Huntly Primary School established in 1860, services a semi rural community in a designated growth corridor linked to Bendigo. Our present enrolment is 225 and students attend from the Huntly township and surrounding areas.
Our school provides the opportunity to develop student’s academic, social and physical abilities. A balanced learning program encourages effective learning by meeting individual student’s needs and differences.
Our School believes that each student’s progress is enhanced and enriched through cooperation between students, staff, parents, community and other learning providers both at school and home. The cooperation of these partners provides challenging learning experiences that assist each student to realise their potential and will equip them to effectively participate in society, contributing to its advancement and well being.
In 2000 the school underwent a complete re-development and now boasts modern educational facilities. The school has a School Council funded room adjacent to the library where the After School Program is based. The Multi-purpose Room not only contributes to school programs but is also seen as a vital community centre for out of hours use. The school also boasts attractive outside learning areas, gardens, a sustainability centre, an oval and paved courts that cater for a range of educational and recreational purposes.
